PESHAWAR: Six sessions were held on the second day of the international conference on CPEC here Wednesday and presentations were made on a number of subjects.
The sessions were held at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University in Peshawar at its main campus at Larama on the outskirts of the city. A number of scholars from all over the country and faculty members and students of the university attended the conference. Due to an unusually high number of speakers, parallel sessions had to be held to accommodate all of them.
The university’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Razia Sultana remained present throughout the day, presented a paper and took keen interest in the proceedings. Chinese scholars were also in attendance.
The first session in the morning focused on the socio-economic, cultural and ethnic issues and regional integration. Prof Dr Zahid Anwar, director, China Study Centre, University of Peshawar, chaired the session. The speakers included Dr Razia Sultana, M Salman and his colleagues, Hashmatullah Khan and his colleagues, Bushra Hamid and Akram Rashid. A parallel session on the same issues was chaired by Prof Dr Amir Khan from the Centre of Excellence, CPEC.
